Torbjörn Ott föddes som smålänning 1981, men bor i Göteborg sen en längre tid. Han har studerat historia och svenska vid Göteborgs universitet och är sedan 2007 lärare i dessa ämnen, men studerar 2009-2010 för att ta en magisterexamen i historia.

Under sin studietid har Bohuslän varit den återkommande röda tråden i forskningen inom studierna. Först tog han sig an den bohuslänska konservindustrin, sedan Emelie Flygare-Carléns roman Ett köpmanshus i skärgården och nu forskar han om det politiska spelet i Strömstads kommun under våren 1974.

Bohuslän går också igen i mycket av den musik han skapar och i de noveller och texter som han skriver. Han var 2006 en av initiativtagarna till litteratursällskapet Moder Ord som har släppt två novellsamlingar hittills. Sedan mars 2010 är han forskningsassistent i Strömstad akademi.

Torbjörn Ott was born in 1981 in Småland, but is a now a Gothenburger since a long time. He has studied history and Swedish at the university of Göteborg, and since 2007 he is teaching the subjects, but is once again studying to get a higher accademic degree in history.

During his time at the university the county of Bohuslän has been almost a constant in his studies. First he grasped over the herring tin can industry of Bohuslän, and then he dissected the novel Ett köpmanshus i skärgården by Emelie Flygare-Carlén. At present he is writing an historical essay on the political turns in Strömstad in the spring of 1974.

Bohuslän also attracts a lot of attention when he makes music. The county also is a common setting when he writes short stories.  In 2006 he was one of the founders of the literary society Moder Ord (Mother Word). The society has released two anthologies of short stories so far. Since March 2010 heis a Research Assistant at the Strömstad Academy.
