Dr. Angelika Basch, Assistant Professor 06/2018-
I have my background in chemistry and my area of expertise is mainly the material science of batteries (Li-ion) and solar cells (silicon, thin film, perovskite), where I have experience in both basic and applied (industrial) research as well as higher education in various national and international universities and companies. Just after I finished my studies in technical Chemistry at the University of Graz and the Technical University of Graz I spent a month in the New Bassaissa desert community project in Sinai, which was co-founded by the American University in Cairo, Egypt. I spent 2.5 years as a Marie Curie Fellow at the Australian National University where I did research light trapping for thin silicon solar cells and developed a back reflector called ‘Snow Globe Coating’. I am a lecturer for electrochemical storage at the Upper Austrian University of Applied Science in the degree program Eco Energy Engineering and Sustainable Energy Systems and photovoltaics at the University of Oldenburg in the Masters degree program Renewable Energy Online (REO). I am currently based in Austria, which is also the country where I was born.
